The eagerly awaited Hotel Catalonia Costa Mujeres, located in the Mexican Caribbean, is very near completion. After months of intense work, the chain’s great showpiece in the paradisiacal Playa Mujeres opens its doors in the most exclusive area of Cancún (Mexico). Surrounded by beaches with white sand and crystal-clear water, this new all-inclusive resort prepares to welcome lovers of all things Caribbean, with a quality of service that places it as one of the best accommodation options in the area. Professionals and technicians from Estel Ingeniería y Obras have been in charge of the ambitious general installations that will let the establishment guarantee maximum comfort and performance to all its guests.
The work undertaken by Estel’s multidisciplinary team focused on the execution of custom installations in the hotel complex belonging to the Vallet family. Among them were the following: development of electrical services for low and medium voltage, systems for air conditioning, plumbing, sanitation and rainwater, and fire detection and extinguishing systems.
We also handled installation and configuration of the BMS control (Building Management System), turning the hotel into an intelligent building. This system allows for centralised control of all the various parts that make up the building, such as air-conditioning, lighting, supplies, etc. Installations operate at the required performance level, achieving a balance between comfort and energy consumption, which also extends the life span of the machinery and reduces the carbon footprint from replacing/manufacturing new equipment. The system contributed to the project being LEED certified (sustainable building certification system developed by the United States Green Building Council).
The work was carried out with greatest efficiency, relying on advanced and modern solutions aimed at achieving energy optimisation in hotels and providing maximum safety for this kind of establishment.
A 5-star resort to experience the authentic Mexican spirit
Hotel Catalonia Costa Mujeres rises above luxurious, modern facilities and has more than 400 suites with terrace or balcony, two large swimming pools, a theatre for representation or events, a disco and a wide gastronomic offer (6 themed restaurants, buffet, creperie, snack bar and 5 food courts). There is also an entertainment team and an extensive entertainment program adapted to both couples and families.
Its location, a mere 7 km from Cancun and near Playa Mujeres (in the state Quintana Roo, Mexico) makes it one of the most attractive options for those wishing to enjoy an unforgettable vacation in the Caribbean. The establishment perfectly combines the incomparable setting offered by crystalline waters and kilometres of white sand with high-quality facilities and the spirit of the Mayan culture.
With the opening of this new hotel complex, Catalonia has a total of 9 resorts in the Caribbean and reinforces its commitment to the area, where it has 3 resorts in Punta Cana and another 5 on the Mayan Riviera.
Estel Ingeniería y Obras would like to once again thank the well-known company for using our comprehensive execution services for installations in the Caribbean. With this initiative added to the list of large-scale hotel projects in the area by our team, we reaffirm our global leadership in the integral management of installations, particularly in the area of BMS control in smart buildings and how they contribute to achieving the LEED certification.
